Pictures from the 3rd Week!

Halfway through the Missionary Training Center! 3 weeks left!

How is everyone doing? so Yesterday we hit our half way day in the MTC! It is crazy how time flies by! its probably because we are without phones and what not. Last night at the devotional we had a speaker named James B Martino of the seventy and his talk was awesome! He had served in central America for 9 years of his life! he said the first flight there from the MTC he couldn't understand a word that the flight attendants were saying lol. he also said he was asked a question in Spanish the first night and he froze and said nothing! the question was what time is it haha. i can already imagine similar experiences happening to me the first few nights in Italy! well everything is just awesome here. I am starting to feel a bit more fluent when i speak but its not even close to how much i should know by the time i get out there!! in our classes we have been learning all sorts of grammar and such! So this week everyone in my zone found out that i hate spiders so of course they have all been catching spiders and surprising me with them. its a normal guy thing to do i guess. but anyway this bug they caught was like the size of my finger and it was so nasty! and i knew they would put it on my bed or something! so i decided to find a way to kill it..... without touching it! so the guys all had it in a bag and this Elder Kenney said he would eat it for 5 bucks!!! I called it a deal! so he ended up eating the thing like some kind of fear factor event and we all rounded up a couple bucks to equal 15 dollars! His said the only thing that was going through his head was that he had to build a huge fence in the summer for 9 dollars an hour and he figured if he could make fifteen for the bug that was no big deal!! Man the Missionaries here are awesome People! Oh and the other night we had a bunch of Nerf guns so we had this huge war!!! right in the middle of it there was this old security guard who came and some elders shot him lol! he didn't think the foam bullet war was very funny and he actually collected all of our guns lol. well no more Nerf gun fights haha! for more of the spiritual things we talked about following the promptings we have. We watched a short film about following these and how president Thomas S Monson once followed a prompting to go visit someones house so he did. he didn't know why but it turns out it was this woman's birthday and no one had said anything to her or written her any cards. the woman was so happy to have a visitor! The President Monson said admitting that he didn't know but God did! i love this story because we don't always know why we are told to do something but we know we must follow these promptings in life and we will be blessed! Ive been so blessed to be called as a servant and as a missionary for the church of Jesus Christ! I love and miss everyone i hope everyone is doing great! id love to hear from you all!

I know that Satan is good at pushing buttons.... that's something we learned about this week. and also i helped with a blessing for a girl in our district, she was really sick and dizzy and stuff so we gave her a blessing!  It was really spiritual, I just hope she has enough faith to be healed which i know she does! I don't have much time, I have to go to eat and go to the temple! love you! tell everyone hi from me!

2nd Week at the Missionary Training Center!

Hey everyone! This week has been great! it has really been fast though. i am learning so much every day here in the MTC! I have been making some of the best friends here because we are seriously together all the time! this weak in leadership training we learned that we should lead by example and we should focus on one Christ-like attribute, the one i chose was humility, and ive learned that if you pray for help to be humbled, its going to work! Just looking around here at the MTC everyone has so many different trials and yet everyone is here to serve!! I saw one companionship with a guy in a wheel chair and another elder using a walker to get around. yet these two Missionaries are working their hardest to serve and im sure they will be fantastic missionaries. i feel so blessed to have been called to serve and to bring the gospel to hopefully many families in need of the wonderful message! In our class we are only supposed to speak italian which really helps me to grow! Our teachers are all awesome! And ive had a Great week! keep sending me letters!

The First (preperation day) Email!

Hey everyone!!!! My first week here in the MTC has been great! I really have been blessed with the best group of Anziani. We are all having a blast! So yesterday was the 6th day in the MTC and I had the chance to teach two lessons, the first was with Anziano Vasquez and we did absolutely amazing. The woman Kayla that we were teaching was absolutely bawling because the spirit was so strong, the lesson was about 30 minutes and it was all done in Italian! It was truly a miracle! I didn’t know how much Italian I knew already until we put it to the test! We have like 8 hours of studying everyday and we get to teach a lesson once a day to real Italians! It’s really amazing what the church does here. I just wanted to bear my testimony in Italian real quick before I’m out of time:

testimonio che questa chiesa e vera e il libro di mormon e la parole di dio, io so che joseph smith tradure il libro did mormon con il potere di dio, io so che dio l'amore tutti persone en questa mondo e che gesu cristo e il cardine del vangelo e noi possiamo ritornare a dio mediante l'espiazione di gesu cristo. nel nome de Gesu Cristo amen.

I Love this church and I love this work! Thanks to everyone who wrote me, it is so nice to get emails from everyone at home!

From Peter:
Friday, August 8th, 2014

I would be lying if I said these last two days weren't hard.  But I have already begun to feel the change in my life.  My companion and I get along quite well!  He, Anziano Nomellini, is from Fresno, CA.  My Italiano is coming along quite well.  I have been working super hard which is probably why I have been made the Leader of my District.  The food is alright, but I'm still doing great.  I've heard the first couple of days are hard which I now believe.  I have prayed so many times already for help and guidance!  It is truly the Lord's work and I can feel the Spirit so strongly all the time.  Io se che questa chiesa e ii vera perche io ha pregato e this work is molto bene!
I'm doing well and can't wait to do laundry on Preparation Day ("P-day") next Wednesday!
