Week 64

Hey, how are you!!

My week was super good! We have just been working hard with the members! The members are so much better at missionary work than we are especially because they have served missions a lot of the time. I feel so blessed to have this amazing ward to serve with.

My companion was transferred to Messina in Sicily and this Thursday I will get a new companion from Utah. He seems like a really cool guy, I've only met him once or twice. As far as the missionary work here goes there isn't much to say. We showed up to the house of an investigator and he said he couldn't come to church because he was sleeping. Then Anziano Berger told him if he didn't come to church he wouldn't be able to be baptized; which is true, but it sounded a little more harsh in Italian than in English so he got a little offended and didn't come to church.

I have really been enjoying the scriptures and gaining knowledge in general. I hope everything goes well this week and you guys are recognizing the blessings of life! The weeks are going by so fast.

Week 63

Hi!
Today we are going to play volleyball on the beach with a bunch of
people! It should be really fun. The work is going alright, we have met some pretty great people! We haven't really been able to teach them this week; however, we have set up a lot of appointments for next week with the members.
To be honest, we haven't had as many meal appointments as normal,
but I think it just takes a little time for the members to get to know the missionaries and to feel comfortable inviting us over.  Last week we went to do a service project and at the end we were able to pick a bunch of kiwi and apparently kiwi have like 5 times the vitamin C as an orange or something like that! So eat lots of kiwi!Oh, also, this week when I went to Sicily to renew my Visa, I got to fly, which was really cool. I traveled alone and found it really weird, as a missionary without a companion. I just kept thinking some Italian member would stop me and ask where my companion was, it never happened.  While I was there in Sicily, I ate lunch with a family from Trapani. It was great to see them again!
Also, a highlight of my week was that on the flight home from Sicily, I sat next to Miss Italia (Alice Sabatini)! We talked for like 15 minutes about everything, it was pretty awesome!  At first I didn't know who she was until someone came and took a picture with her. Then after the flight, I asked if I could take a picture with her as well!
Well anyway, I'll let you know how everything goes this week. We will receive transfer calls! I love reading the e-mails from home, they make me laugh so hard! Have a good week! Love you guys!

And of course, I found the cannoli! I'm not sure if I found the cannolo or if the cannolo found me! Hahahaha! I ate sooo many when i was in Sicily, along with the gelato of Sicily!  It's super famous there, not as much here in Rome.
